In witchcraft, spirits, sigils, and symbols serve as core tools for focusing intention, shaping energy, and bridging the material and spiritual worlds. Each plays a distinct role, yet all work together to enhance magical practice and deepen spiritual connection.

Witches often work with spirits as allies, guardians, or messengers. These may include ancestors, nature spirits (elementals), deities, fae, familiars or self-created servitors. Through ritual, meditation, offerings, and trance, a practitioner builds a relationship with these beings. Spirits are called upon for guidance, protection, healing, or to lend power to spells. The practitioner/spirit relationship is typically one of mutual respect and careful discernment. Working with spirits is considered a sacred exchange, not a command.
